[ncl-talk] ERROR OPENING PWRITX DATA FILE /usr/share/ncarg/database/PlotcharData

Hello,

Generally, questions like this should be sent to ncl-install at ucar.edu

I think that the 'aptitude' installation did not work completely or
correctly. The PWRITX  function is in the underlying NCAR Graphics library
which NCL uses for graphics.

I'd suggest downloading a 6.3.0 binary if it is available for your system.

NOTE:
The aptitude install is for NCL 6.1.2 which was released February, 2013 (2+
years ago).
The most recent version of NCL is 6.3.0 (March 2015).
The next release: 6.3.1 (maybe: 6.4.0) contains many new functions
   https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/future_release.shtml
