[ncl-talk] NCL installation on mac

Dear Sir/Madam,
I try to install NCL on my mac, I just use the steps on installation guide
on the website.
https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Download/macosx.shtml#ESGAccount
 But the tar file does not open regularly. I used 'tar -zxf file' command
and get the errors that say
include/ncarg/hlu/VectorPlotP.h: Failed to create dir 'include'Can't create
'include/ncarg/hlu/VectorPlotP.h'

What can be the reason?
