Assistant Professor in Dynamics of Earth Systems

There is an opening for a *tenure-track *Assistant Professor position at
the Dept. of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University. The position's scope is
very broad, and *we welcome applicants with a background in meteorology,
climate science or hydrology.*

*The position*
Within the context of Dynamics of Earth Systems the following topics are
encouraged, separately and/or combined: Interactions between spheres
(atmosphere, biosphere, cryosphere, hydrosphere and/or lithosphere) through
time and/or across space; and interactions within a sphere.
*The conditions*
The position of Assistant Professor comes with a start-up packages and is
fixed-term for up to six years. It is a tenure-track position, and during
the appointment, there is the possibility to apply for promotion to
Associate Professor.
*The department*
Uppsala University is a comprehensive, research-intensive university with a
strong international standing. The Department of Earth Sciences (

most complete such academic departments in Europe. Our research focuses on
subjects that range from the Earth’s core to the atmosphere and human
society, on scales from submicroscopic structures in minerals to the
formation of mountains and oceans. We have teaching at undergraduate and
graduate levels.
