*Assistant Professor – computational geophysics*
The Department of Geosciences at Stony Brook University invites
applications for a tenure-track
Assistant Professor faculty position in computational geophysics. We seek a
candidate with the
potential to carry out a program of research that complements one or more
of the Department’s current
and traditional research strengths in geodynamics, seismology, and mineral
physics, and who will be
an effective teacher in undergraduate and graduate courses. Details of the
department’s areas of

*Qualifications*
The successful candidate must have (i) a Ph.D. in the geosciences or
closely related field at the time
of appointment, (ii) clear potential to establish an internationally
recognized, externally funded
research program that would include mentoring of a diverse body of graduate
and undergraduate
students, and (iii) a demonstrated commitment to excellence in inclusive
teaching at the
undergraduate and graduate levels.
