Please post the following job announcement.

Michigan Technological University is recruiting an air quality research
scientist. We are seeking a postdoctoral research scientist to join our
team in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Engineering!

We are looking for an expert with a strong scientific background, good
communication skills, strong data analysis and graphing skills, and
experience in at least one of the following areas:

1. air quality measurement instrumentation and data analysis

2. human exposure assessment

3. micrometeorological measurements and data analysis

The candidate should have completed a doctoral degree in the area(s) of
atmospheric science, engineering, environmental health/exposure science, or
related field. A valid operator driver’s license is required.

Preference will also be given to candidates with strong interpersonal
skills, oral/written communication skills, and the ability to work
collaboratively on a transdisciplinary team.

Essential duties include: 1) instrument and analyze the associated data
from outdoor air quality sampling/sensing and meteorological measurement
sites, deploy crowdsourced home sampling/sensing instruments and analyze
the associated data, and supervise deployment and analysis of wearable
technology for human exposure assessment, 2) apply AERMOD for pollutant
dispersion modeling and CMAQ for secondary air pollutant (ozone and
secondary aerosols) modeling, 3) present and publish research results, and
4) apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work.

The postdoctoral research scientist will work in a multidisciplinary
environment at the intersection of engineering and environmental health
with a focus on air quality, exposure science, and boundary layer
meteorology. The scientist will conduct research on human health effects of
carbon-based energy and the transition to renewable energy in rural Upper
Michigan. The position will involve characterization of boundary layer
meteorology in western Upper Michigan, supervision of deployment of
wearable technologies for human exposure assessment, implementation of
crowdsourced sensor technologies for outdoor and indoor air quality and
associated data analysis, and participation in implementation of science
for renewable energy in rural settings.

Michigan Technological University is an Equal Opportunity Educational
Institution/Equal Opportunity Employer that provides equal opportunity for
all, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.

The appointment is for 12 months, with an option for renewal for one year
contingent upon satisfactory performance. To apply, candidates must submit
a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and contact information for three
references at the following link:
