I would like to share an open position for MS/PhD position in Atmospheric Sciences and Remote Sensing at Texas A&M University -Corpus Christi. The job ads in PDF is also attached for your information.
The Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) is seeking highly motivated M.S. and Ph.D. graduate students for atmospheric sciences and remote sensing research starting in Fall 2023.
The successful applicants will work with Prof. Feiqin Xie at TAMU-CC and external collaborators on NASA funded research projects. The students will conduct research on satellite/airborne remote sensing and global model data to study the atmospheric boundary layer, low clouds, and hurricane or relevant topics of student’s interest. This is a fully funded research assistant opportunity that provides a competitive monthly stipend and health benefits.
Applicants should hold a BS degree in meteorology, atmospheric sciences, or a related field. Preference for Ph.D. candidate will be given to applicants with a MS degree in atmospheric sciences. A strong background in physics and math is essential, as well as effective communication skills both orally and in writing. The ability to work in a team-oriented environment is also important. Although not required, programming skills (e.g., IDL, Matlab, Fortran, Python, or others) and large data analysis experiences are desired.
