Hello,
New York is beginning a state-funded State Weather Risk Communication Center (SWRCC) to help serve the state's governmental weather needs, located at the University at Albany in NY.
This position within the SWRCC will serve to provide general meteorological services to critical state and other public sector stakeholders. Most NY agencies and authorities do not possess hired meteorologists, which makes the process of preparing for-, responding to-, and examining impactful weather events challenging. This position will work to fill this gap and will contribute to the greater educational and research environment at UAlbany where appropriate. Please view our landing page, here: https://www.albany.edu/state-weather-risk-communication-center
We are hiring 3 entry-level meteorologists and 1 lead meteorologist. All positions have traditional state benefits.
To view and apply to the entry-level meteorologist positions, visit: https://albany.interviewexchange.com/jobofferdetails.jsp?JOBID=170827
To view and apply to the lead meteorologist position, visit: https://albany.interviewexchange.com/jobofferdetails.jsp?JOBID=170826
You are allowed to apply to both, if that is desired, but you may only be selected for one position. These positions will remain open filled.
Please contact Nick Bassill (nbassill at albany.edu) for questions about the positions.
