[ES_JOBS_NET] Nominate a colleague for $300k Nemmers Prize in Earth Science from Northwestern University

Dear colleagues,

Now is a great time to nominate a preeminent Earth scientist whose work you admire for Northwestern’s $300,000 Nemmers Prize in Earth Sciences. The Prize is open to all fields of Earth science, and typically awarded at the mid-career stage or later. Nomination packages (comprising a letter of 1000 words or less from an expert colleague, plus the nominee’s CV) are due Dec 31.

Candidacy is open to those with careers of outstanding achievement in their discipline as demonstrated by major contributions to new knowledge or the development of significant new modes of analysis. Individuals of all nationalities and institutional affiliations are eligible except current or recent members of the Northwestern University faculty and recipients of the Nobel Prize. Nominations are retained and considered for the next award cycle as well. The Prize was created in 2018, and past awardees were distinguished earth scientists Emily Brodsky, Katherine Freeman, and Francis Albarède. The recipient of the 2024 biennial prize will visit Northwestern for a week or more in 2024-2025 to interact with our faculty and students in Earth and planetary sciences and to give a public lecture.
