The Community-Soil-Air-Water (CSAW) M.S. fellowship in Geosciences is
recruiting applicants for the fall 2024 cohort!
- Do you or someone you know want to answer pressing questions from,
for, and with communities in Atlanta, GA?
- Interested in bridging the human-physical divide in geosciences?
- What to study at one of the most diverse universities in the US?
Applications are open (
https://geosciences.gsu.edu/csaw/application-information/) and due February
1, 2024. The 2-year RA stipend is $25,000/year and includes a full tuition
waiver.
We welcome applications from any and all interested in the pillars of CSAW
(community, soil, air, and water) who want to change the approach towards
geosciences working for and with communities. Some specific projects coming
from the Atlanta community that could be studied include:
Community mapping
Quantifying and communicating urban heat island
Qualitative archival work on hazardous waste sites
Urban air quality
Political ecology and environmental justice
Environmental education

interested in geography, water, soil, and air. You can reach us at

This project is funded through an NSF Cultural Transformations of the
Geoscience Community Implementation Grant to Georgia State University with
our partners WAWA (https://www.wawa-online.org/), ECO-Action (
https://eco-act.org/), Spelman College, Emory University, and the
University of Georgia.
