Lancaster Environment Centre is one of the UK's largest centres for environmental research. Our mission is to perform world-leading fundamental research, and to use that research to help understand and solve global and environmental challenges. We wish to appoint a lecturer in atmospheric science who will complement our existing research interests in air pollution, weather and climate change, and be willing to engage in multi- and interdisciplinary collaborations across LEC and the university.

Applications are invited from scientists from all backgrounds who are building an international reputation for research in atmospheric or climate science. You should have a clear track record of achievement and publication and a compelling vision for your research. While we welcome applications from across the entire spectrum of the atmospheric sciences, we particularly encourage those who have research interests in atmospheric composition and climate systems, atmospheric data science or local/regional meteorology. You should be able to demonstrate how you will develop international collaborations that complement or strengthen existing research links in LEC.

You should bring a strong commitment to the teaching of atmospheric science. At undergraduate level, you will support delivery of the Environmental Science and Geography degree programmes. You may also contribute to new and existing modules in our strong postgraduate portfolio.

LEC offers a highly collegial and stimulating environment for career development based on departmental values and embedded Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) considerations and actions. We are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis as well as the Athena SWAN Charter, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research. Sustainability forms a central goal of the research, teaching, partnership and everyday activities across LEC. Furthermore, we are active and progressive around wellbeing and the decolonising agenda.

Please submit your application on-line including a CV and a cover letter which includes a research and teaching statement.
