wide range of topics to select to develop research projects including
indoor aerosol particles and surface films, urban aerosol particle

composition. Students will start in Fall 2023 and anyone with a background
in environmental sample collection, aerosol collection, chemical
characterization (e.g., GC/MS, UV/Vis, ESI/MS,…), or an interest in online
aerosol measurements is encouraged to apply.

Interested students should reach out via email to Dr. Rachel O’Brien (
reobrien at umich.edu) with information on their past experiences and their
research interests. Including a CV and an unofficial transcript is also
encouraged. Interested students will also need to apply to the department
before December 15 (https://rackham.umich.edu/admissions/applying/). The
