Want to solve real-world problems connecting natural hazards and social
economics?

Qianhai Reinsurance, China's first independent reinsurance company, has
just established its research department focusing on developing seismic and
atmospheric models to evaluate the risk of natural perils that could impose
on human properties and lives.

We need two postdoc researchers with background in:
1. Earthquake Engineering
(Successful candidates will be involved in developing and modifying
earthquake hazard probabilistic models for eastern asia,
vulnerability models et al. )
2. Atmospheric science/ climate change
(Prior experiences with hurricane, hurricane related rainfall modeling are
prefered)

 Selected candidates will be working together with industry experts from
Qianhai Re and world-renowned professors from Harbin Institute of
Technology (Shenzhen) in both fields.

Appointments are for two years, with the possibility of full time
employment from Qianhai Re depending upon satisfactory performance.

*Qualifications*

   - Phd degree obtained within 3 years. (Graduation date this summer is ok
   too).
   - Strong research and coding capability
