We are looking for a laboratory scientist (BS/MS level) and a postdoctoral researcher.

Laboratory scientist will be part of the CAMS Natural Radiocarbon Group. Work includes sample preparation and development of prep methods for 14C-AMS analysis for environmental science (geochronology and biogeochemistry) and other research areas. Postdoc position is to work with Dr. Susan Zimmerman (a sedimentary geologist and paleoclimatologist/ecologist) and myself on soil organic carbon characterization utilizing advanced methodologies including 14C-AMS, 13C-NMR spectroscopy, and HPLC compound separation techniques. Research projects are focused on the role of microbially-derived and pyrogenic organic carbon in soil carbon chemistry and persistence and on the development of separation and analysis of organic carbon fire- and biomarkers for contemporary carbon cycle science as well as paleoclimate/fire/ecology research.
