Graduate Student Research Positions In Hydrogeology and Environmental Science at NMSU
Come join our research group with Kenneth "KC" Carroll https://web.nmsu.edu/~kccarr/KCCarroll.html at New Mexico State University.
We are seeking graduate students interested in pursuing both MS and PhD degrees, in Hydrogeology and Environmental Science, starting in fall 2021 (maybe starting in the summer). Women and Minorities are encouraged to apply. The Water Science and Management (WSM) Graduate Degree Program, described at https://wsm.nmsu.edu/ enrolls about ~40 graduate student researchers advised by faculty advisers from several colleges across the university.

The research program includes several projects https://web.nmsu.edu/~kccarr/Research.html ranging from hydrologic modeling, to unsaturated hydrogeology, to hydro-geophysics, to solute transport, to water quality and contaminant remediation. Interest in machine learning is a bonus. We also provide access and training for a wide array of chemical analysis including high-resolution mass spectrometry https://web.nmsu.edu/~kccarr/Facilities.html.
NMSU is located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, home of the Organ Mountains, White Sands National Park, and world famous Hatch Green Chile. The university houses several internationally-recognized and long-established water research programs and organizations. Some include the New Mexico Water Resources Research Institute described at https://nmwrri.nmsu.edu/ which supports water research for science informed water management. NMSU is also home to the NSF funded long-term ecological research program described at https://jornada.nmsu.edu/lter<https://nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fjornada.nmsu.edu%2Flter&data=01%7C01%7Cpbloomqu%40nmsu.edu%7Cbcea4d4e47524843d2ac08d7357bcb2c%7Ca3ec87a89fb84158ba8ff11bace1ebaa%7C1&sdata=ofhM3nLmBq200cf7A46YcfqdwSjKoaEr5Ip0SEutw6M%3D&reserved=0> , as well as two NSF funded Engineering Research Centers. These are Reinventing the Nation's Urban Water Infrastructure described at https://renuwit.org/<https://nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Frenuwit.org%2F&data=01%7C01%7Cpbloomqu%40nmsu.edu%7C3d2879f0aae545a335e908d73567597e%7Ca3ec87a89fb84158ba8ff11bace1ebaa%7C1&sdata=ZAVtRrZmr94XaWN5NkR%2BWkbjx3f7V%2BZWeyFLjWgPJJY%3D&reserved=0> and the Center for Bio-Mediated and Bio-Inspired Geotechnics described at https://cbbg.engineering.asu.edu/<https://nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcbbg.engineering.asu.edu%2F&data=01%7C01%7Cpbloomqu%40nmsu.edu%7C3d2879f0aae545a335e908d73567597e%7Ca3ec87a89fb84158ba8ff11bace1ebaa%7C1&sdata=bWSYjcGXcD5jJf%2BOYgrgdlKine0hMX2nxjlB9RE9sXY%3D&reserved=0>.
