Dear all,

We are reaching out about a new mentoring program, launching Summer 2021: Geoscience Education and Mentorship Support (GEMS) Program. GEMS was created to address existing gaps in mentorship access for undergraduate and graduate students in the geosciences (including planetary, atmospheric, and ocean sciences). We are recruiting two steering committee members for this program: (1) a member with experience applying to US graduate programs and fellowships as an international student, and (2) a member experienced in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and geoscience outreach. This is an open-rank opportunity (graduate students through faculty are eligible). These members would join a team of four existing committee members and play a key role in developing the mentorship program. We anticipate that each member of the committee will serve between 9-12 months. The workload commitment is approximately 1-3 hours per week including a monthly meeting.
