Job Description:

To lead efforts that ensure fidelity of implementation of Texas OnRamps Physics, Geoscience, and Chemistry courses through the four pillars of Texas OnRamps and to coordinate a high-level of instructional and professional learning and development service and support OnRamps Instructors.

General Notes

Mandatory Teleworking - In light of COVID-19, the Office of Strategy and Policy has implemented a mandatory teleworking policy beginning March 16th through December 31, 2020.

This position requires travel throughout the state of Texas as well as ongoing weekend and evening work to support instructors and course implementation, including during summer, spring, and fall professional learning institutes and enrollment deadlines. May be required to work evenings and weekends during critical times.

Responsibilities

*        Support OnRamps Instructors in implementing courses with fidelity along the OnRamps Four Pillars. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders by providing exceptional customer service, technical support, and problem-solving with professionalism, positivity, tact and decorum. Design and use data-driven approaches to ensure ongoing course and program improvements. Work with course staff to develop and implement interventions as needed.

*        Leverage technology to support the ongoing implementation of the OnRamps coaching cycle with the goal of providing direct and targeted assistance to Instructors through Canvas and other virtual coaching media.

*        Ensure fidelity of implementation through deep understanding and ability to communicate and coach the course pedagogies and course-specific technology tools, in addition to Canvas. Support course staff implementation of coaching strategies.

*        Support the development of a facilitated network of OnRamps Instructors by leveraging technology to provide just-in-time support via online, telephone, and in-person communication and lead virtual conferences. Develop innovative strategies to promote online and in-person community learning and knowledge exchange with OnRamps community.

*        Develop and lead projects relating to instructional support, course implementation, and in-person and virtual coaching under the designated Curriculum and Instruction Manager using the OnRamps Project Management Methodology.

*        Support the designated course staff, Associate Director of Curriculum and Instruction, designated Curriculum and Instruction Manager, and Professional Learning Development Team to enhance course delivery and alignment, including special projects that increase opportunities for fidelity of course implementation.

*        Apply standard evaluation procedures to analyze data and monitor, evaluate and document course, student, and Instructor outcomes through recurring issue tracking and reporting. Utilize data to apply principle of continuous improvement to special projects relating to Instructor support and professional development.

*        Utilize adult learning and cognitive learning science theories to contribute to and assist with the expansion of online modules and courses to increase success of Instructors in course implementation.

Required Qualifications

*        Bachelor's degree in physical or life sciences, or closely related field.

*        Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or another LMS.

*        Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact.

*        Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences using a respectful, client-focused approach.

*        Demonstrated understanding of high school teaching and learning.

*        Five or more years of clinical or teaching experience at a high school or college level.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

*        Master's or Doctoral degree in physical or life sciences, or closely related field.

*        Experience developing curriculum, preferably for online delivery.

*        Experience providing support or instructional coaching to teachers.

*        Experience developing and maintaining online courses within an LMS.

Salary Range

*        $55,000
