We're pleased to share that the Center for Policy Research on Energy and the Environment (C-PREE) at Princeton University's School of Public and International Affairs is inviting applications for three postdoctoral or more senior research scholar openings:

1) Interdisciplinary research on the co-benefits of various greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation strategies and energy technologies for climate, air quality and health: We seek candidates with doctoral level training in energy economics or policy, atmospheric science (including satellite data analysis and atmospheric chemistry transport modeling), or public health and with an interest and ability to bridge across disciplines and conduct integrated assessments. Regions of focus may include China, India or the United States, or may utilize global analyses and tools. The power, transport, residential, industrial or agricultural sectors may be examined. The position reports to Prof. Denise Mauzerall<https://scholar.princeton.edu/mauzerall>. Apply at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/18841

2) The impacts of climate change and resulting human responses: Successful applicants should be skilled in one of two areas of research: 1) physical modeling of extreme events (such as heat waves, tropical cyclones, or coastal high water) in the context of applications to impacts on individuals and social systems, or 2) econometric or other quantitative methods applied to assessment of human migration and other sensitivities and responses to climate change. This research effort aims to combine diverse methods and lines of evidence to assess the probability of climate change impacts and outcomes. The position reports to Prof. Michael Oppenheimer<https://scholar.princeton.edu/oppenheimer>. Apply at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/18821

3) Biodiversity conservation, with a particular focus on work using ecology and the social sciences to discover practical policy solutions to particular conservation issues. Applicants should be skilled in one of the following areas of research: 1) Conservation of declining migratory birds that utilize the East Asian-Australasian Flyway. 2) Socio-economic analysis of the wild-animal trade, with a focus on understanding the drivers of the trade in understudied species (excluding elephants, tigers, etc.). A doctorate in economics is desirable, as is experience doing research related to biodiversity conservation. 3) Analysis of natural climate solutions that can be employed in Southeast Asia to simultaneously mitigate global climate change and conserve biodiversity. The position reports to Prof. David S. Wilcove<http://www.princeton.edu/~dwilcove>. Apply at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/18801

The appointments will be through the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. The research positions require a PhD in a relevant field and do not support work towards the completion of a degree. Salary and full employee benefits are offered in accordance with University guidelines. These are one-year positions with a possibility of renewal depending on performance and funding.

Applicants must submit a CV, a cover letter describing their areas of expertise and research interests, and contact information for three references. References may be contacted for the candidates who make the shortlist for these positions. The submission must be online via AHIRE links listed with each separate job description here: https://cpree.princeton.edu/jobs

The review process will commence immediately and continue until positions are filled. This position is subject to the University's background check policy.
