MS opportunity in biogeochemistry at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi; Coastal and Marine System Science or Chemistry track
A MS opportunity is available with the Felix Research Group at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. As part of a Texas General Land Office funded project, the student’s research will focus on using stable isotope techniques to investigate nitrogen loading into Texas coastal waters. The project’s overall goal is to aid stakeholders in creating informed nitrogen loading mitigation strategies. Fieldwork will include monthly sampling excursions to barrier islands of the Texas Coastal Bend. Potential students should be highly self-motivated and have a strong background in chemistry with extensive laboratory experience. The project relies heavily on stable isotope techniques so experience with these techniques is desired but not necessary. MS students will matriculate through the Coastal and Marine System Science <http://gradschool.tamucc.edu/degrees/science/coastal_marine_sys_science.html> graduate program (http://gradschool.tamucc.edu/degrees/science/coastal_marine_sys_science.html) or the Chemistry graduate program (https://gradcollege.tamucc.edu/degrees/science/chemistry.html) depending on preference. Interested candidates should contact Dr. J. David Felix (joseph.felix at tamucc.edu<mailto:joseph.felix at tamucc.edu>) and provide a short statement of interest, scientific writing sample and CV. More information about the Felix Research Group can be found at felixlab.tamucc.edu.
