*MS in Geography and the Environment*

I am seeking a highly motivated student to pursue a Master of Science
degree under my supervision in the Department of Geography and the
Environment at the University of North Texas (UNT) beginning in fall 2016.

The student will work as part of a larger research team on a National
Science Foundation CAREER grant “Intra-Urban Variability in Black Carbon
Deposition: Rates, Pathways, and Determinants”. The project will
investigate to what extent city trees function as urban air filters,
capturing black carbon particles from the atmosphere and then depositing
them to soil.

*A research assistantship and full tuition coverage is available for spring
and fall 2017, and at 25% time (10 hours per week) in summer 2017*.
*T**eaching
assistantships are available to fund the remainder of the master’s degree
program (one year).*

UNT is located in the City of Denton, just north of the DFW Metroplex, one
of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the U.S. Denton is a unique
and culturally vibrant college town that offers an economically accessible
lifestyle, the best of small town life, and the amenities of two
neighboring world-class cities.
