Job Description

Ramboll Environ is looking for energetic, talented and highly-motivated
scientists and engineers to join our team of internationally recognized air
experts and perform advanced technical studies to inform major business and
public policy decisions and support our business development efforts.

We are seeking to fill a full-time air quality/climate modeler position in
a fast-paced, challenging and rewarding work environment with excellent
opportunities for professional growth.

The position is ideal for self-starters who are: detail oriented but also
think about the big picture, eager to solve scientific/technical
challenges, embrace a collaborative culture that provides considerable
freedom to practice, have a ”get it done” attitude, and are ready to apply
hands-on computer modeling skills to help solve our government and business
clients’ advanced air quality problems.

A typical day might include one or more of the following: conducting
scientific investigations using advanced air quality and atmosphere models,
interpreting modeling results, developing new modeling tools, performing
statistical and geospatial analyses of air quality and meteorological data,
preparing reports and communicating results to clients, publishing and
presenting findings to peers and stakeholders, and managing projects and
client relationships.

This highly collaborative position requires that you be available to work
full-time in our Novato, CA office. Travel is not required for this
position.

Required Skills

   - Experience running and interpreting results from global and/or
   regional air quality/climate/meteorological models
   - Strong technical programming skills gained through practical
   experience using languages and tools like Fortran, Python, Perl, NCL,
   C/C++, and R
   - Proficiency in working in a Linux/Unix environment, including shell
   scripting
   - Strong oral communication skills
   - Ability to write technical content clearly as demonstrated through
   publications or reports
   - Excellent analytical and organizational skills
   - Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Helpful Additional Qualifications:

   - Experience using CAMx, CMAQ, WRF, or GEOS-Chem
   - Experience using satellite data for air quality applications
   - Experience with emission inventory development and analysis
   - Experience with emissions modeling
   - Familiarity with computer skills such as managing disk drives and data
   storage
   - Experience with modeling evaluation/assessment tools
   - Familiarity with database programming
   - Familiarity with statistical analysis

Educational Requirements: M.S. or Ph.D. in discipline relevant to air
quality/climate modeling such as atmospheric science, engineering,
meteorology, chemistry or physics.

Experience Required: 2-4 years (Work done as a graduate student can count
toward this requirement)
