Mon May 9 16:00:00 MDT 2022

Dear Early Career Scientists and Engineers,

We hope you are doing well. The Early Career Scientist Assembly (ECSA)
<https://edec.ucar.edu/early-career-staff/early-career-scientist-assembly>
represents the interests and voices of early-career scientific and
engineering staff* at NCAR, and strives to engage early-career staff as
well as enhance the communication between early-career staff and NCAR
management. As a way to promote and facilitate these conversations, we are
hosting our second annual virtual ECSA town halls: *Mon* May 23rd, 10-11
a.m. and Wed May 25th, 1-2 p.m.

Please RSVP to one of the town halls using this form
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSddbgWTjZfndUBAEsjjA_HgLhYrRnw022e6sYS8YgfT8YFETg/viewform>
.

Similar topics will be covered at the two scheduled sessions, but we have
scheduled two days and times to try to engage as many NCAR early career
staff as possible. During the town halls we will have an update from the
ECSA Steering Committee on its involvement in NCAR programs and
initiatives, followed by a breakout discussion where you will have a chance
to meet and chat with other early-career staff. Among the various topics we
would like to discuss with you are the REM policy and procedures
<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_HlCMMJQDvnRJ_gyui9h7sed9ZGBOcO1/view>,
the SAM initiative
<https://sundog.ucar.edu/Interact/Pages/Section/Default.aspx?Section=4700>,
interest in establishing MSI collaborations, and concerns and challenges
(such as, but not limited to, pandemic support, cost of living, travel
support, etc.) that may have impacted you as an NCAR early-career staff.

A zoom link will be sent about a week prior to the meetings to all ECSA
members. If you are not an ECSA member yet, you can subscribe to the group
by sending an email to ecsa+subscribe at ucar.edu.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the ECSA Lab
Representatives.

We look forward to seeing you at the town halls!

Best regards,

The ECSA Steering Committee
