I meant NCL was installed in the debian 8 from precompiled binary

and in the new debian 10 is missing there isn't the libgfortran.so.3:

and wehen I do

sudo apt-get install libgfortran3

package libgfortran3 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'libgfortran3' has no installation candidate

any suggestion how to solve this issue?

many thanks
Franz

Oggetto: problem with ncl after update O.S.

Dear ncl-team

I upgraded the linux operating system (from debian 8 to debian 10)
but now when I call ncl from the terminal it gives me the following error:

ncl: error while loading shared libraries: libgfortran.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

In this computer, there is installed 'ncl_ncarg-6.4.0' that has been build from ncl source code.

Do I need to update / rebuild the NCL source code?

thanks
Francesco
