[ncl-talk] PDO EOF_REGRES

Hi Melanie,
Typically what is done for PDO regressions is that you calculate the 1st
EOF, then the associated principal component (PC) timeseries. You then
regress other fields onto the PC timeseries. That way it is irrelevant if
the original SST grid is different from the grid of the variable you are
regressing.
For example:

evecv = eofunc(sst_CW({lat|20:70},{lon|110:260},time|:),2,75)
pcts = eofunc_ts(sst_CW({lat|20:70},{lon|110:260},time|:),evecv,False)
pctsS = dim_standardize(pcts(0,:),0)
delete([/pcts/])
finarr = regCoef(pctsS,sst2)   ; returns global SST regressions
finarr_psl = regCoef(pctsS,psl)   ; returns global PSL regressions
