[ncl-talk] irregular time axis

Please find the attached plot.  The data values are in one array for
1-Jan-1999 to 14-May-1999 and 5-Oct-1999 to 25-Dec-1999

The plot is perfect till 14th May 1999 and then there is an interpolation
between the time labels between 14th May 1999 and 5th oct 1999 (as a
straight line which shows the gap between the data)  after which the plot
seems perfect from 05 oct 1999 to 25 dec 1999

I would like to remove the days between 14th May 1999 and 05 Oct 1999 so
that the data and the axis shows only a small break.
