Hi Gaurav,
I would probably look for the minimum of sea level pressure, then I
think you could use the approach as given in Example 3 here:
https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Functions/Built-in/minind.shtml
If you have to use u and v components, then I guess you could use a
similar approach to find the maximum of the wind speed.
Maybe I'm oversimplifying the problem, though.
