Hi Jose,

I'm not expert, but I think the issue is that since you are using wrf
plotting routines, there's slightly different mechanism to control the
extent of the area plotted on a map than the one Guilherme described.  You
might take a look at:

http://ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Functions/WRF_arw/wrf_map_overlays.shtml

particularly to "zoomin" attribute to see how to do this.  I believe it and
the associated attributes would go on what you've called the "mpres"
resources variable in your script.
