[ncl-talk] Error using plotgrids.exe

Problem solved. Seems there was a misalignment between the namelist.wps coords and that printed from the ncdump of the wrf outputs.

Hi Sara,

In your script, can you print the values you are extracting for truelat1, truelat2, stand_lon?  The "plotgrids" section of your code looks different than what is provided in the WPS/util/plotgrids_new.ncl script that comes with the WRF source code.  You should also double check the i_parent_start and j_parent_start values to make sure those are ok.  This is most likely some kind of projection issue, as you suspect.

I have getting an error when trying to use plot_domains.ncl (and adapted plotsgrids.exe script). For some reason, that I cannot work out, the domains are not plotted in the correct geographical location with respect to the land mask. I have attached an example of the output from plot_domains.ncl (wps_show_dom2_obs.png) and two plot of the topography from domain 1 and 2 to show where the locations should be along the coastline (plt_topo_d01.png and plt_topo_d02.png). But, as seen in the attached image (wps_show_dom2_obs.png), the added points to mark locations are placed in the correct location.

I am hoping someone can advise me on where I am going wrong. Maybe something to do with the projection?
