Hi Manisha,
We generally recommend shapefiles as a source of more up-to-date,
higher-res map-data. There is a shapefile for Antarctica at:
gadm.org
There are also a number of examples of using shapefiles with NCL at:
http://ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/shapefiles.shtml
