[ncl-talk] Scripts for 1000-500mb thickness

I think that someone who is more familiar with WRF (? wrfhelp at ucar.edu ?)
will have to help. I am not aware of any function that would extrapolate
WRF output to 1000 hPa.

z = wrf_user_getvar(a, "z",it) ; grid point height
p = wrf_user_getvar(a, "pressure",it) ; pressure is our vertical coordinat
z_plane_500 = wrf_user_intrp3d( z,p,"h",500.,0.,False)
z_plane_1000 = wrf_user_intrp3d( z,p,"h",1000.,0.,False)
thick_500_1000 = z_plane_500-z_plane_1000 ;
The poster said this did not work. However, there may have been updates
since that time.
