[ncl-talk] reading pnetcdf/CDF-5 files

Hi,

I'm trying to read a NetCDF file generated using pnetcdf's CDF-5 format,
but I'm getting a segfault when I try to open the file with addfile(...).

It seems like as of 2013, NCL didn't have support for the CDF-5 format (see
this question/answer:
http://lists.mcs.anl.gov/pipermail/parallel-netcdf/2013-June/001463.html).

Is this still the case?  I didn't find any reference to the CDF-5 format in
the NCL documentation, so I suspect that CDF-5 formatted files are still
not readable by NCL.  If so, are there plans to add this feature?  Other
suggestions?
