Hello !

I am using MET to evaluate the performance of the WRF modeling systerm. The MET version is MET4.1. 
The WRF model resolution is 3km （grid number:1945x1498 ）. I use UPP to get grib1 format data from wrfout data. A single grib1 format file is about 400M. 
When  I use pcp_combine  command to calculate accumulated precipitation,  it does not work. 
The error messages show as follows:

./pcp_combine -subtract wrfprs_d01.2019070103 03 wrfprs_d01.2019070100 00 wrfrain_acc3.nc -v 2
DEBUG 1: Reading input file: wrfprs_d01.2019070103
ERROR  : 
ERROR  : GribFile::read_record(GribRecord &) -> found a grib record larger than the buffer size.
ERROR  : 
ERROR  :   Increase the buffer to at least 5820430 bytes.
ERROR  : 
ERROR  : 

I also use  pcp_combine  command to process WRF output data at 9km resolution. It works well.
I am not sure what the problem is. Does anybody have any suggestions ?

Hello Liu,

It looks like you are experiencing some issues with grib data.  You
are currently using MET 4.1 and the latest available version is MET
8.1.2.  I would first suggest that you update to MET 8.1.2, as this
may clear up your issues.

You can download the latest version of MET at:

https://dtcenter.org/community-code/model-evaluation-tools-
met/download

On that same page, there is additional information on the external
libraries that will be needed.  You can also find links to the online
tutorial and other helpful resources.
