Initial Request

Sorry to pester you; you must be real busy. Do you have any timetable for
a new GFDL tracker version? DTC still has v3.5b (2013).
The MSLP/MSLET issue is my main concern.

Hi Dave,
Funny that you should ask :) We did get it all ready for a release
but
then found some inconsistencies in results which may or may not be the
result of a bug. I asked the HWRF folks in the DTC and they
instructed me
to have you write HWRF help about this:
hwrf-help at ucar.edu
They can point you to the updated code and give you a better idea
about
it's status for operational use going forward.
Thanks,
John

Subject: Re: MPAS datasets
From: Mrinal Biswas

Hi Dave,
Sorry for not responding you earlier. As John mentioned we postponed
the
release because of some issues. However, we are in the final stages of
releasing the HWRF code which has the GFDL tracker as a component. I
think
the MSLET is part of the tracker. I do not have a stand alone version
of
the tracker. But if you want to grab a copy you can find it at
/glade/p/work/biswas/H216_trunk/sorc/gfdl-vortextracker/.
It is already compiled, so if you want to test your data on YS, you
are
good to go.
Thanks
Biswas
