  Initial Request
----------------------------------------------------------------

I'm trying to run MODE and am using NetCDF input files for both fcst and observation. The response I get is "Attribute not found". See the following dialog:

> mode ~/IDV/test_nc_output_contour_WREN_12Z_07FEB.nc ~/IDV/test_nc_output_contour_OBS_12Z_07FEB.nc
~/MET_MODE/WrfModeConfig_m3o3_gsdlaps_LAX_WIND
-outdir ~/MET_MODE/results_m3o3/20120207
-log ~/MET_MODE/logs/test -v 5
DEBUG 1: Default Config File: /home/rflaniga/opt/MET/MET_4.1_patch5/data/config/MODEConfig_default
DEBUG 1: Match Config File: /home/jraby/MET_MODE/WrfModeConfig_m3o3_gsdlaps_LAX_WIND
DEBUG 1: Merge Config File: /home/jraby/MET_MODE/WrfModeConfig_m3o3_gsdlaps_LAX_WIND
DEBUG 4: Met2dDataFileFactory::new_met_2d_data_file() -> created new Met2dDataFile object of type "FileType_NcMet".
NetCDF: Attribute not found

Does MODE accept NetCDF format?

Thanks.

Hi John.

MODE can read either GRIB files or the NetCDF output of PCP-Combine,
but
not NetCDF in general.

I hope that helps!

Julie -

I was beginning to suspect that not all NetCDF files are the
same. Those that are generated by the pcp_combine tool have some unique
feature which is expected by MODE and that this uniqueness is not
present in NetCDF files generated elsewhere.

I have another question about interpreting a graphics file I captured
from Series-Analysis output using plot_data-plane. If I sent it, could
you take a look?

Thanks.

John

Hi John.

Yes, please go ahead pass on the graphics file from the Series
Analysis
output using plot_data_plane. I'll go ahead and close this ticket.
Please
start another one with your question about the graphical data.

Thanks,
Julie
