Initial Request

Hello,
I was trying to install the MET package on my Linux/fedora based laptop. But, receive error messages while trying to istall the required packages. While running the 'configure' script for netcdf, I receive the following error message:
configure: error: cannot run C compiled programs.
If you meant to cross compile, use `--host'.
See `config.log' for more details.
The config.log file is attached here with.
Kindly advise.

Lameque,
Sorry, I won't be able to provide much assistance in how to compile
NetCDF on your laptop. We provide compilation and scientific support
for the MET tools themselves, but generally not for the
libraries on which MET depends.
However you may find the compilation section of the MET online
tutorial to be of use:
http://www.dtcenter.org/met/users/support/online_tutorial/METv4.0/compilation/index.php
