Dear MET help,
My data is on a rotated LatLon grid with Arakawa C staggering.
All that interests me is total precipitation. So I think the staggering
should not be a problem, as it does not
concern precipitation. My question is, do I need to regrid the data to
an unrotated grid before applying MET?
Will the results of the calculation be compromised if I directly use
this rotated grid?
Best regards,

Martin,
I'm afraid that you will have to regrid your data to a non-staggered
non-rotated grid in order to use MET. The good
news is that you can choose the projection you would like to regrid
to: LatLon, Mercator, Lambert Conformal or Polar
Stereographic. If your model data is the NetCDF output of WRF, we
recommend that you use the WRF Unified Post Processor
(UPP - http://www.dtcenter.org/wrf-
nmm/users/overview/upp_overview.php) to post-process your data and
then use copygb to
regrid it to the desired projection. If you have any questions about
this, please let me know.
