Hello MET Help,

I'm trying to obtain PREPBUFR for GDAS data for June 2008 to use in the
Point-Stat verification. The link to the data on the MET website (
http://nomads.ncdc.noaa.gov/data/gdas/) doesn't list anything for 2008. Do
you know if this data is unavailable, missing, or located somewhere else?

Zack,

Ah yes, I see that hole in the data as well.  Unfortunately, we don't
have any control of that data archive.  On the NOMADS home page
(http://nomads.ncdc.noaa.gov), there's a link for how to contact
someone at NCDC.  You might want to ask them about that missing data.

Now, there is another source of PREPBUFR files available through
NCAR's DSS.  I'm not sure if it's exactly what you need, but it's
worth a shot:
   http://dss.ucar.edu/datasets/ds337.0

Click on the "Data Access" tab, and it'll request that you register in
order to retrieve data from there.
