[Go-essp-tech] Product detection

  Hi all,

I have very little knowledge on this matter, but still, I've been trying
to sort out the configuration of the product detection tool in order to
use it.

I've been talking to Martina in order to try to understand how this
configuration file should be filled, and this is what I got:

1) The information required is known by the modelers and not necessarily
by the institutions publishing it. So how is this information supposed
to flow? Is there a mechanism already in place (e.g. CIM)? How are
other institutions proceeding (PCMDI?)?

2) How should models used for centennial and decadal set of experiments
be modeled? AFAIK the high resolution version of the MPI-M's earth
system model 'ECHAM6-MPIOM-HR' is used for both, ECHAM-MPIOM-LR (low
resolution) only for paleo-climate runs. How is the categorization of
'ECHAM6-MPIOM-HR' supposed to be expressed in the configuration file?

I think this tool requires now that the publisher knows much more about
the data being published than it previously had to.

Thanks,
Estani
