Dear Colleagues,

We are coming down to crunch time in regards to the release of the
ESG Federation. This next Tuesday (2/9/10) at our regularly scheduled
time we are to discuss the "Overarching" progress of the ESGF. This
will not only include the progress of ESG software, but will also
include the progress of BADC and MPIM progress towards Metafor
Questionnaire, CMIP-3 archive conversion and other the CMIP-5/AR5
relative development, and hopefully the appropriate Curator updates.

Attached is a short document giving the state of the ESG Data Nodes,
but this does not include all of the ESGF developments. I would hope
that we would all give an innovatory or our status/progress. At this
point, links to website would be great. This will give everyone a big
picture of our overall status.

Please keep in mind that there will be other releases of the software
after the March 31st date. This will also help us to determine the
next software releases.

	Agenda:
		1) Were will we be on March 31st?
    			- How will the first deployment do the following, if at all:
      			 - security (will we be able to ditch the token)
      			 - aggregation (not sure whether/how we are using THREDDS
aggregations)
       			- LAS
      			 - "wget" download scripts covering multiple datasets
			- DML Gridftp
       			- metadata pipeline. Will it consume METAFOR questionnaire
XML?
			- Replication. We haven't talked about this for a while.
    			- When will we be able to start replicating data to/from PCMDI.
    			- Will the Gateway software be able to deal with replicas in
the March release?
    			- Can a single Gateway deal with multiple replicas being
published to it (If BADC continues to publish to PCMDI gateway)
			- more? ...

These are examples of things to discuss... (We have a lot on our
plate so we will start promptly at 8:00 am PST if we are to end in an
hour.

Please send your information to the list so that others can read and
prepare before the meeting on Tuesday.

Thanks and best regards,
	Dean
