The University of Montana invites applications for an inaugural Dean of the College of Science. This position offers a unique leadership opportunity to advance the identity, strategic direction, and operational structure of a new academic college central to the University’s mission.

The College of Science<https://www.umt.edu/science/default.php> is key to UM’s research and teaching mission, with considerable strengths in neuroscience, biological and biomedical sciences, ecology, wildlife biology, and chemistry and biochemistry research. The University of Montana maintains R1 status and a research portfolio topping $150 million.

The Dean will serve as the Chief Academic and Administrative Officer of the College, with responsibility for advancing its academic, research, personnel, and administrative functions. The Dean will lead the College through its early years, collaborating with faculty, staff, and University leadership to build operational capacity and stability while promoting interdisciplinary scientific research and education, as it continues to support a culture of student-centered excellence.
