The Urban Climate Research Lab at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is seeking a motivated Ph.D. student to join the Department of Atmospheric and Earth Science (AES) starting in Fall 2026.

The Research: This  funded Graduate Assistantship focuses on project on urban climate resilience. The selected candidate will leverage state-of-the-art regional weather modeling simulations and multi-scale climate data to investigate weather extremes interacting with urban environments and their associate impact and mitigations.

What We Are Looking For: We are seeking a candidate with a strong quantitative foundation in Atmospheric Science, Climatology, Statistics, and/or Big Data Analytics.

• Preferred Degree: B.S. or M.S. in Atmospheric Science or a related physical science.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, or MATLAB) is highly desirable.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal English skills are essential for research dissemination.
