Role and Position

   - We are seeking a Research Engineer (II) or Research Scientist to join
a multidisciplinary team of seismologists and engineers working on
AI-assisted earthquake monitoring and seismic data processing.
   - The successful candidate will develop an operational software package
by integrating, optimizing, and validating existing workflows for routine
seismic data processing. Beyond software development, the candidate will
have opportunities to contribute to advanced AI algorithms and intelligent
systems for earthquake detection, processing, early warning, and
   interpretation.
   - This is a two-year position, renewable for up to five years. Based at
Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, the candidate will work
closely with seismologists and seismic-network engineers to support the
detection and reporting of local earthquakes and to conduct research on
   earthquake activity across Southeast Asia.

Key Responsibilities

   - Integrate and optimize existing seismic data-processing workflows into
   robust operational software.
   - Test, validate, document, and maintain software packages for research
   and operational applications.
   - Contribute to the development of AI-assisted workflows for earthquake
   monitoring, detection, warning, and interpretation.

Qualifications and Skills

   - Strong programming skills in Python and at least one compiled
language, such as C, C++, or Fortran.
   - Experience in scientific software development, data processing,
   workflow integration, or system deployment.
   - Familiarity with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and
   AI-assisted coding tools is preferred.
   - A background in geophysics, computer science, data science,
engineering, or a related field is preferred.
   - Experience with seismic data, signal processing, scientific computing,
or operational monitoring systems would be advantageous.
   - Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
