Help lead at the forefront of global energy innovation as the Alaska Center
for Energy and Power (ACEP)’s new Deputy Director for Research, a
leadership role for an established researcher eager to shape and grow a
diverse, applied energy research portfolio that makes an immediate impact.

As a part of ACEP’s leadership team, you will play a central role in
setting research direction, securing funding, and mentoring the next
generation of researchers in Alaska.

ACEP serves as a gateway for energy research and development across the
state and beyond. Our mission is to deliver cost-effective, practical, and
innovative energy solutions that meet the needs of communities from the
Arctic to the Pacific.

As Deputy Director for Research, you will guide the growth and direction of
ACEP’s research portfolio across multiple sectors and disciplines, serve as
a key member of the ACEP leadership team, contribute to strategy,
operations, and collaboration across programs, lead research teams, build
new partnerships, and secure funding for long-term research impact.

To thrive in this role, you must possess a blend of strategic vision and
hands-on engagement. As an integral part of ACEP’s leadership team, you
will be expected to shape research direction and priorities while actively
collaborating with researchers and sustaining your own applied energy
portfolio. On a daily basis you will need to align big-picture goals with
practical implementation. Advanced skills in planning, securing funding,
and coordinating resources to move projects forward will help you become a
valuable contributor.

This position is equivalent in rank and responsibility to an Associate
Dean. Your peer will be ACEP's Deputy Director for Strategic Initiatives.

If you’re an experienced researcher with leadership skills and a portfolio
of impactful energy research, we invite you to apply!

PhD in a relevant field such as science or engineering and six (5) years of
progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of
training and experience.
