The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences of the University of
Exeter invites applications for a 2-year postdoctoral research position in
the group of Thomas Aubry <https://sites.google.com/view/thomasjaubry/>,
with a deadline of October 6 2024.
The successful applicant will assess uncertainties in the historical
stratospheric aerosol dataset to be used for Phase 7 of the Coupled Model
Intercomparison Project (CMIP7), and quantify how these uncertainties
propagate to simulated historical climate. They will work closely with the
European Space Agency, the CMIP Climate Forcing Task Team,

international partners. They will be based in the stunning Cornwall campus
of the University of Exeter. Applicants looking for flexible/hybrid working
conditions are welcome to apply.
A PhD in climate science, atmospheric science or a related discipline as
well as proficiency with scientific programming is required. Experience
with climate modelling and/or remote sensing of the atmosphere would be
beneficial. The salary range is £ 32,332-38,205 depending on qualification
and experience.
