Dear colleagues,
The Department of Geology and Geophysics in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University is seeking applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor in Solid Earth and Planetary Geoscience broadly defined. The anticipated starting date is Fall 2025.
The successful candidate should address one or more grand challenges in Solid Earth and Planetary Geoscience, including but not limited to topics such as:
* Formation and evolution of crust and mantle of the Earth and other planetary bodies
* Deep planetary processes and conditions including their linkages to surface processes
* Cycling of volatiles and critical elements
* Fundamental studies of plate boundary processes
We welcome experimental, field, computational, or combined approaches to address one or more of these challenges. The successful applicant will lead a vibrant, cutting-edge research program that should complement existing research strengths of the Department of Geology & Geophysics. We seek outstanding collaborative faculty who are ready to develop multi-disciplinary approaches that address national and international-scale initiatives.
