Dear Colleagues,
The 51 Pegasi b Postdoctoral Fellowship program recognizes early-career investigators of significant potential and provides them with the opportunity to conduct novel research in planetary astronomy for up to four years. The fellowship program aims to advance our fundamental understanding of solar system science, exoplanet science, and other closely related topics.
We especially want to emphasize that, although the fellowship is named after an exoplanet, solar system planetary scientists are strongly encouraged to apply. Early-career investigators who use telescopes, spacecraft data, lab work, and/or modeling to study the planets, moons, and small bodies in the Solar System are all eligible.
The Heising-Simons Foundation anticipates awarding six to eight 51 Pegasi b fellowships this year. Each recipient will receive a three-year grant of up to $450,000 with the ability to apply for a fourth year, assuming satisfactory progress. For more information about the fellowship, eligibility requirements, and host institutions, please visit: 51pegasib.org
The application deadline is Friday October 4, 2024, at 5PM US Eastern Time
Best regards,
Emily Schaller
