Dear colleagues,
The Applied Ocean Physics & Engineering Department and Physical Oceanography Department at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) invite candidates to apply to the open full-time tenure track position(s) on our scientific staff. We seek to hire at the Assistant Scientist level, but exceptional candidates at more senior levels may be considered.
We seek applicants with expertise in the physical processes underpinning air-sea interaction. We seek candidates utilizing observational, theoretical, and/or numerical approaches to study multi-scale processes at the ocean-atmosphere boundary, including but not limited to, an interdisciplinary perspective or a focus on the ocean side, atmospheric side, or both.
The successful candidate will be appointed in one of the two departments to join a collaborative group of scientists across the institution who address a wide range of fundamental problems in ocean and climate science and engineering. World-class technical capabilities at WHOI enable the development and use of innovative instruments and observational techniques as well as high-performance computing approaches to study ocean and climate-relevant processes across temporal and spatial scales, including open-ocean, coastal, and polar regions. We seek individuals who will contribute to WHOI’s mission by advancing next-gen ocean innovation and computational frontiers in oceanography to drive exploration and fundamental discovery of the ocean as well as use-inspired outcomes on climate change and ocean-human connections.
Application deadline: December 6, 2024.
