We have an opening for a 2-year PostDoc position at Lund University to
work on atmospheric GhG inverse modelling at Lund University, see the
announcement below. Please get in touch with
me(marko.scholze at nateko.lu.se)if you have any questions.

*Vacancy: Postdoctoral researcher position in  atmospheric GhG inverse
modelling at Lund University, Sweden*

The Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science
(https://www.nateko.lu.se) is seeking to appoint a postdoctoral
researcher with a strong background in carbon cycle modelling, data
assimilation, inverse modelling or applied mathematics.

The appointee will be part of a vibrant and international team within
the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science. The
department operates and further develops the regional LUMIA inverse
modelling framework estimating both CO2 and CH4 fluxes from atmospheric
observation. We also operate the Carbon Cycle Data Assimilation System
capable of quantifying sources and sinks of carbon dioxide through the
assimilation of observational data. We are closely collaborating with
the ICOS Carbon Portal (hosted by the Department of Physical Geography
and Ecosystem Science)that develops operational data products and
services building on ICOS observations for analysing the state of the
carbon cycle of Europe.

The position is linked to the EU-funded projects CORSO
(https://corso-project.eu) and AVENGERS (coordinated by Lund University,
https://avengers-project.eu). As part of these projects the appointee
will work on developing and applying a coupled carbon cycle fossil fuel
data assimilation system and/or the LUMIA regional inversion system. The
appointee will be a member of the inverse modelling group; he/she will
work on the development and application of the assimilation systems
together with the project partners and international collaborators.

The positionwill be available for 24 months, with a preferred starting
date of June 2024.

Closing date for applications: 15 April 2024

Lund University welcomes applicants with diverse backgrounds and
experiences. We regard gender equality and diversity as a strength and
an asset.
