PhD post at University of Birmingham (UK) on aerosol-cloud-climate interactions, deadline 09th Jan. 2024

What is it? A fully-funded PhD post as part of the NERC CENTA Doctoral Training Partnership, starting in October 2024. Based in the University of Birmingham, co-supervised by University of Cambridge and UK Met Office. Comes with opportunity of placement in UK Met Office and is a CENTA Flagship Project.

What we offer? Annual stipend for 3.5 years, set at £17,688 for 2024, full waive of tuition fee, plus a research training support grant (RTSG) of £8,000, extra funding is also provided for travel to and collaboration with UK Met Office. A diverse and supportive study environment and supervisor team.

What you'll do? Identify aerosol's fingerprints on ice-cloud via incorporating satellite observations and data-science, combining with climate modelling to better understand climate change.

Who you'll work with? You'll be based at School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Birmingham, UK. You'll be supervised by scientists at University of Birmingham, UK Met Office and University of Cambridge.
