Additional information:

Area of expertise or other related information:
Responsible for research on evaluating and improving emission estimates of methane as well as other greenhouse gases and pollutants from landfills and other area sources. Research will focus on measurement and modeling of emissions from discrete area sources, assessing the uncertainty in these estimates, and characterizing the processes that influence emissions. This will involve application of advanced online measurement technologies and micrometeorological flux measurement techniques, local- scale atmospheric modeling to infer emission patterns and variability, and development of new methods of data analysis and emission uncertainty estimation. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, leading research efforts in the following areas relative to methane as well as other greenhouse gases and air pollutants: Development of measurement platforms and methods for quantifying emissions from landfills and other area sources; Quantification of emissions and their uncertainties; Characterization of emission processes; Comparison of bottom-up emission measurements with other datasets (i.e., top down) where possible to assess differences in emission estimating methodologies.

RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

1. Knowledge of advanced measurement technologies and micrometeorological flux measurement methods for quantifying, evaluating, and improving area source emission estimates of methane as well as other greenhouse gases and pollutant

2.    Skill in interpreting scientific data;

3.    Skill in written communication;

4.    Ability to lead and train a team of researchers;

5.    Skill in oral communication;

6.    Ability to develop plans and program initiatives to support establishment of new scientific standards;
Ability to manage contracts including preparing procurement requests and monitoring technical performance.

Thank you,
Ryan
