associate to join Dr. Kenneth Bowman and Dr. Anita Rapp at Texas A&M
University on their NASA-funded Dynamics and Chemistry of the Summer
Stratosphere (DCOTSS) project.  The main goal of DCOTSS is to
investigate the impacts of overshooting thunderstorms over the U.S. on
the summertime stratosphere. The postdoc will be responsible for
performing independent research to analyze DCOTSS field campaign data
and/or perform high resolution model simulations of overshooting storms.

*Job responsibilities include:*

*-Collaborative Research*: As part of the DCOTSS team you will help
develop shared software, work collaboratively with and assist other
DCOTSS scientists, help mentor DCOTSS graduate students, contribute to
the DCOTSS team research objectives, and participate in science team
meetings and academic conferences.
*-Data Analysis* : Perform independent research to analyze and/or model
DCOTSS field campaign data, as well as other related historical datasets.
*-Data Management* : Responsible for assisting with data management of
the DCOTSS project.  The candidate will also develop shared datasets and
support other data management related efforts in the research group, as
well as performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements include an appropriate PhD in Atmospheric Science,
Meteorology, or closely related field, although research experience in
upper troposphere/lower stratospheric dynamics, convective dynamics,
satellite or radar remote sensing, or in situ atmospheric observations
is preferred. Contact Dr. Anita Rapp (arapp at tamu.edu) if you have any
additional questions about the position.
